If you sell multiple product lines — each with its own packaging design — manually creating labels for every SKU is a nightmare. PouchCraft lets you automate product uploads using a CSV file across multiple templates, so you can generate hundreds of unique, print-ready labels in just a few clicks.

This tutorial covers everything: how to set up multiple templates, structure your CSV for multi-template workflows, and export all your labels at once.

Why Use CSV + Multi Templates?

Most businesses don't sell just one product — they have dozens or hundreds of SKUs, often across different product categories, each requiring a different label design. PouchCraft's CSV + Multi-Template workflow solves this by letting you:

  • Assign different templates to different rows in your CSV
  • Generate all labels in a single export run
  • Switch between product lines without redoing your entire setup

Whether you're managing 10 SKUs or 1,000, this workflow saves hours every week.

Step 1 — Create & Save Multiple Templates

Before uploading your CSV, set up each of your label templates inside PouchCraft.

For each template:

  1. Upload your packaging design (PNG or PDF)
  2. Place field boxes on the canvas — Brand, Product Name, MRP, Batch No, Dates, Barcode, etc.
  3. Save the template with a clear, recognizable name (e.g., spices-template, snacks-template, rice-template)

Repeat this for every product category or design variation you have. Each saved template can be reused across unlimited CSV rows.

Tip: Name your templates consistently — you'll reference these names in your CSV file, so clear naming avoids confusion.

Step 2 — Structure Your CSV for Multiple Templates

The key to multi-template automation is a special column in your CSV that tells PouchCraft which template to use for each row.

Your CSV should include a Template column alongside your product data:

Template,Brand,ProductName,NetWeight,MRP,BatchNo,MfgDate,BestBefore,Barcode
spices-template,Fresh Farm,Turmeric Powder,100g,₹45,FF240601,01/06/2024,01/06/2026,8901234567890
spices-template,Fresh Farm,Red Chilli Powder,100g,₹55,FF240602,01/06/2024,01/06/2026,8901234567891
snacks-template,Crunch Co,Roasted Peanuts,200g,₹40,CC240601,01/06/2024,01/12/2024,8901234567892
rice-template,Grain House,Basmati Rice,1kg,₹120,GH240601,01/06/2024,01/06/2025,8901234567893

Each row specifies its own template. PouchCraft reads this column and automatically routes each product to the correct design.

Step 3 — Upload Your CSV

Once your CSV is ready:

  1. Go to the CSV Upload section in PouchCraft
  2. Click Upload CSV and select your file
  3. PouchCraft will auto-detect the Template column and map each row to its corresponding saved template
  4. Review the field mapping — confirm that each CSV column is correctly matched to the right field on the template

If any column isn't mapped correctly, you can adjust the mapping manually before proceeding.

Tip: Always double-check the Template column mapping first. If the template names in your CSV don't exactly match your saved templates, labels won't generate correctly.

Step 4 — Preview Labels Across All Templates

Before exporting, use the Preview Modal to review labels from each template:

  • Scroll through your label queue to see products from different templates
  • Verify that text, barcodes, dates, and MRP are positioned correctly on each design
  • Check that fonts and sizes look right for every template variation

This step is especially important when working with multiple templates — each design may have different field placements, so preview each one carefully.

Step 5 — Export All Labels in One Go

Once you're satisfied with the preview, click Export. PouchCraft will:

  1. Process every row in your CSV
  2. Apply the correct template to each product
  3. Auto-generate barcodes for all rows
  4. Package all labels into a single ZIP file
  5. Download the ZIP instantly to your device

Inside the ZIP, your labels are organized and named by product — ready to send directly to your printer or packaging supplier.

Pro Tips for CSV + Multi-Template Workflows

  • Use consistent column names across all your CSVs so you don't have to remap fields every time
  • Group rows by template in your CSV — it makes the preview easier to check and reduces export processing time
  • Keep a master CSV template for each product category and just update the data rows each batch
  • Test with a small batch first — upload 5–10 rows before running your full 500-row export

Who Is This Workflow For?

  • 📦 Amazon & Flipkart Sellers — manage multiple product categories with different label designs
  • 🌶️ Spice & Food Brands — handle dozens of SKUs across different packaging formats
  • 🏭 Manufacturers & Co-packers — produce labels for multiple clients or product lines in one run
  • 🛒 FMCG Distributors — automate batch label generation across your entire product catalogue
